Student Services Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada) is
the national organization established to support a unified Canadian
accounting profession. They represent highly qualified professionals who
demonstrate an ongoing commitment to providing the highest standards of
accounting, ethics and best business practices.
As one of the world’s largest national accounting bodies, with more
than 210,000 members across the country and around the world, CPA Canada
carries a strong influential voice. They play an important role in
influencing international accounting, audit and assurance standards to
ensure that these standards are appropriate for Canadian market needs. CPA Bermuda is affiliated with the Chartered Professional
Accountants of Canada. Its objectives: •
To promote and increase the knowledge, skill and proficiency of its
members and students; •
To regulate the discipline and professional conduct of its members
and students; •
To promote the best standards of practice in financial reporting and
in the expression of professional opinions and •
To promote the welfare and interests of CPA Bermuda and the
accounting profession. CPA Atlantic School of Business promotes and delivers the CPA
Pre-certification programs in Atlantic Canada and Bermuda.
The CPA Atlantic School of Business has a mission to attract,
educate, and qualify individuals to become Chartered Professional
Accountants. Successful graduates will have met the requirements of a
challenging and rigorous CPA pre-certification process that meets the needs
of business, public practice and government. Programs are available part-time and delivered through a blend
of online and in-person modalities. Classes and exams are delivered
throughout the Atlantic Provinces and Bermuda, in both French and English
instruction, and are accessible to candidates of all educational
backgrounds. An independent, nonprofit, global association, ISACA engages
in the development, adoption and use of globally accepted, industry-leading
knowledge and practices for information systems. ISACA provides practical
guidance, benchmarks and other effective tools for all enterprises that use
information systems. Through its comprehensive guidance and services, ISACA
defines the roles of information systems governance, security, audit and
assurance professionals worldwide. The COBIT framework and the CISA, CISM,
CGEIT and CRISC certifications are ISACA brands respected and used by these
professionals for the benefit of their enterprises. The AICPA represents the CPA profession nationally regarding
rule-making and standard-setting, and serves as an advocate before
legislative bodies, public interest groups and other professional
organizations. The AICPA develops standards for audits of private companies
and other services by CPAs; provides educational guidance materials to its
members; develops and grades the Uniform CPA Examination; and monitors and
enforces compliance with the profession’s technical and ethical standards. The AICPA’s founding established accountancy as a profession
distinguished by rigorous educational requirements, high professional
standards, a strict code of professional ethics, a licensing status and a
commitment to serving the public interest.
